Introduction— Dharma greetings on this solar alignment day, May 20,2012 , dear friends and associates of BUDDHA DHARMA-OBF INTERNATIONAL.
There were two inspiring days which HH the Dalai Lama spent in the Cultural capital of Europe . In times of Occupy movements throughout the world we focus on the interesting exchange of thoughts between four Nobel Peace Prize laureates and visions for the 21st century.

I. DIALOGUE & SOLIDARITY – PANEL DISCUSSION WITH HH THE DALAI LAMA AND THREE OTHER NOBEL PEACE PRIZE LAUREATES

Tibetanskemu duhovnemu vodji Dalai Lami se bodo v Mariboru pridružili še nekateri drugi Nobelovi nagrajenci za mir. Razpravljali bodo o pomenu dialoga in solidarnosti v času krize.

Razpravo z bangladeškim ekonomistom Muhamadom Junusom, gvatemalsko borko za človekove pravice Rigoberto Menchu Tum in slovensko klimatologinjo Lučko Kajfež Bogataj bo vodil politolog Rudi Rizman. Spremljali jo boste lahko tudi na TV Slovenija 2 in na MMC-ju, začne se ob 10. uri.

Razpravo o dialogu in solidarnosti v krizi boste lahko ob 10.00 spremljali v neposrednem prenosu na 2. programu TV Slovenija ali na MMC-ju.

Še predtem bodo gostje sodelovali na novinarski konferenci z gostiteljem, mariborskim županom Francem Kanglerjem. Po razpravi pa bodo skupaj odkrili sliko irskih umetnikov The Bogside Artists pred gledališčem. Umetniški kolektiv izhaja iz vojne na Severnem Irskem in poskuša prek svojih stenskih poslikav ljudem pokazati krute realnosti vojne.

Live webcast lasted for 90 minutes .
dr. Lučka Kajfež-Bogataj (Slovenia) received Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 , with the group of Al Gore , focusing on Global climate research. See documentary : Inconvenient truth.
Prof. Muhammad Yunus – established a bank giving micro credits to poor women in Bangladesh .”Milliards of people around the world are unemployed , because the system is wrong and must be changed .
dr. Rigoberta Menchu Tum from Guatemala was greeting the ambassador of Guatemala and mayor of Maribor city, present in the hall. Further she explained Mayan views about global crisis : “Humanity is becoming too decadent, too materialistic . Mayans are striving for full life , not only good life. ..Dialogue must become essential culture of human beings. Monopole systems are anti-social . They don’t like humans who are able to think. All humanity is on the test…”
HH the Dalai Lama was greeting all brothers & sisters . He expressed great honour to be able to speak on this panel discussion : DIALOGUE AND SOLIDARITY . “Now we are already more than 7 billions of people on this planet …Natural resources are limited and there is great gap between rich and poor. There are also ecological issues and problems of global warming. This problems affect all humanity. Technology enabled us to connect better . Therefore we must have sense of solidarity : everyone has the right for happiness and prosperity . Humanity must develop sense of big WE. Religious beliefs are good, but secular views can also contribute to solve problems. If we look at our planet from afar, from the space, we see many quarrels between people. People must forget small quarrels. Differences between races, nations, social groups exist, but can not be solved through the force. Spirit of dialogue is very important. ”
His Holiness said :”Cause and effect are important understanding. Change comes only through positive actions, not only through intellectual knowing. Pessimism is the cause of failure. Aim must be to be good- for this one needs diligence and self-confidence. …Selfish leaders in 20. century were causing great suffering for people. World needs compassionate people who don’t feel regret when they die. …Actions are mental, verbal and physical. All actions depend on motivation: it must be altruistic. ”
Dr. Rizman asked His Holiness how to apply solidarity with people who are selfish and cruel :” One must appreciate the power of Truth. One must be sincere, honest and kind. We are all human beings. We can all meet in warm heartedness which eliminates anger, suspicion and hatred. This must be replaced through love and compassion . This is important mental change for humanity.” answered Gyalwa Rinpoche.
Prof. Yunus (Bangladesh) explained in detail the working of “his” bank , offering micro credits to poor women. All functions through the trust , not in distrust. It is completely opposite to commercial banks who never offer to charities. In Bangladesh there are 50% of children undernourished. …. They collaborate with French company Danone , producing special yoghurt for undernourished children in Bangladesh… (As a Vegan I suggest that they feed undernourished children with Spirulina blue -green algae, which is much better as dairy product like yoghurt. )
P.S. Blue -green algae are produced even in South India and Thailand- they can be produced also in Bangladesh .
Dr. Lučka-Kajfež Bogataj said :”There is need for change of United nations and for change of the institutions of democracy. There is need to change educational institutions. More than 50% of people nowadays live in the cities which are not so open for new ideas. More than 50% humanity are women who did not have the same rights in last 2000 years (audience applause). Creative individuals must connect and join their forces. Young people have great challenges for these changes.”
dr. Rudi Rizman invited guest speakers to give concluding remarks and answer question : What is alternative civilisation for next centuries ?
dr. Rigoberta Menchu Tum : “There were different civilisations on this planet, not only one civilisation (i.e. western civilisation). ..For dignity of human being one need individual awareness and spirituality. …Positive change must be aim of every individual. All people must become more aware and humanistic. ..Mental health must be practiced in daily life. Only mentally healthy people can help others…We must take care for natural resources which are common good. ”
HH the Dalai Lama :” Women can do much more for altruism and humanity (then men). Women are much more sensitive, pointing out love, compassion which are natural qualities of women. …In the history there were mostly male leaders. Nowadays women promote warm heartedness and compassion. This is their task now and in the future….21st Century must be filled with positive visions, like the space filled with positive qualities. Young generations must think wholesome and take responsibility for the future.”❁‿↗⁀◎⊙ღ๑۩۞۩๑ღ⊙◎‿↗⁀❁

Maribor, Slovenia, 16 May 2012 – Meeting his host, the Mayor of Maribor, Franc Kangler, and his staff this morning, His Holiness the Dalai Lama recalled how much he had enjoyed his first visit to Maribor in 2010 and how impressed he had been with what he saw of Slovenia. When Mr Kangler proudly told him that, although Slovenia is a comparatively small country, Maribor’s football team had beaten both Russia and Serbia here in Maribor, His Holiness remarked that in the field of truth and justice too, size is not always the deciding factor.
