I. INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR CONTEMPORARY BUDDHIST STUDIES :

1.1.Introduction : Homage to immaculate Buddhas
When my Buddhist Path began about twenty-eight years ago, my main interest was natural Sound . First discovery about it was in the Book by Chan master Huang Po :

When I transcribed Tai Situ Rinpoche+s Dharma lecture about reincarnation , he pointed out at the questions & answers session , about importance of Natural sound of Dharmata . In next years I had opportunity to ask Tai Situ Rinpoche about this, in personal interview at Rime Choling in Graz, Austria .
In Surangama sutra Natural Sound of Dharmata is described as method of Avalokiteshvara and of Manjushri . I kept inquiring further, asking almost every Buddhist master that I met , how they teach and practice Natural Sound of Dharmata . Many did not give precise or any answer at all. It was obvious around year 2000 that teachings about Natural Sound of Dharmata are endangered and almost lost …. Then I had interesting dream in which I said with great certainty to few English speaking Dharma teachers : »Do you know what Chonyid kyi rangdra means? Silence among them …«Do you know about Natural Sound of Dharmata ?« Nobody answered …«I came to this world to uphold these endangered lineages !«

In one of my short letters to Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche whom I fist meat at Merigar Dzogchen community in June 1989 , I asked him about Natural Sound of Dharmata … Rinpoche answered in his specific way : »I always teach about this …« Althou in that years it was not so obvious , as it is now in 2014 … We focused more on symbolic transmission , I believe . I encouraged Rinpoche in letter few times , to teach about Dra Thal Gyur tantra of Dzogchen Upadesha which is the root of all Ati Yoga Dzogchen teachings and also source of Natural Sound of Dharmata .
From 1999 till 206 I had the privilege to study Ati Yoga Dzogchen Mind to Mind or Heart to Heart with Kyabje Thinley Norbu Rinpoche (1931-2011). Of course my motivation was to deepen my Knowledge about Natural Sound of Dharmata .In Spring 2000 I received Ati Yoga Lineage transmission of Samantabhadra-Vajrasattva-Garab Dorje through Kyabje Thinley Norbu Rinpoche . My Collected Dharma works are entitled : Gentle Rain of Nectar Blessings . Later Kyabje Thinley Norbu Rinpoche published wonderful Dharma book : Cascading Waterfalls of Nectar . His Book gives so many sublime teachings about Natural Sound of Dharmata . May we be blessed just by reading and contemplating just few of his Words :

1.2. Visions for the present and future : Natural Sound of Dharmata is essence of our body, energy and midn/consciousness . Natural Sound of Dharmata (Tib. Chonyid kyi rangdra) is supreme Guru Yoga or Samadhi of Sound as taught by Dzogchen master Vimalamitra and classified by All-knowing Longchen Rabjampa (Twenty-one Semdzins, 2nd group).

We are all so fortunate to listen Chogyal Namkhai Norbu open webcast on this Dakini day . In last few years Rinpoche continuously explain about importance of Secret Sound . Let me quote from todays webcast : »Three primordial wisdoms are : essence = emptiness; nature = movement ; energy = three primordial potentialities : Sound /Light/Rays. Sound originates in emptiness . We know outer sounds, inner sound and Secret sound or our potentiality of Essence /Emptiness . Letter A has origin in Secret sound . Ancient Sanskrit alphabet begins with A . A represent (that) Sound . White represent Light . From that White A develops rays of five elements . This forms Rainbow sphere or Thigle . Dharmakaya is state of Realization = dimension of emptiness. Blue Samantabhadra is symbol of Dharmakaya. Blue light is symbol of emptiness, like the sky . When we sound A we see rainbow sphere/thigle in ourselves . It represent our primordial potentiality . In this Guru yoga practice we relax , in that state of Guru Yoga or contemplation .«
Today when we were singing the Vajra song in Ganapuja I had interesting contemplation experience : holding the Vajra in my right hand , I understood that Vajra has Rainbow sphere in the middle , my Vajra was at the center of Merigar Gompa = Temple of great liberation . All is connected to Vajra of Dharmata Natural Sound above Vajra throne in Bodhgaya . In this contemplation experience (which I beleive many felt at exactly the same time of the Vajra song) there was complete silence , like astonishment … One of the last verses of the Vajra Song remind us about Natural Sound of Dharmata …
1.3. Natural Sound of Dharmata : contemplation must be effortless . This Secret Sound is part of ourselves and is not created by us . It is uncreated (Tib. Dumache). It is primordially present in ourselves , appearing spontaneously , when we are purified enough and we have Direct introduction . My method of giving Direct introduction is very simple . When we go deeper and deeper in Knowledge about our True nature (Skt . Dharmata, Tib. Chonyid) practice become more and more simple , not more and more complicated . It become less intellectual and more natural . Kyabje Thinley Norbu Rinpoche advised : »The best is to be simple and natural… » With contemplation of Natural Sound of Dharmata we can gradually , but certainly get confidence that our physical body is condensed Light of five elements … If we can reverse but to the source , that is to Natural Sound of Dharmata, we can accomplish the Rainbow Body , as many of Dzogchen masters have already done .

This lineage : Chönyid kyi rangdra or Natural Sound of Dharmata has origin in Dra Thal Gyur root tantra of Dzogchen Upadesha . Master Vimalamitra is the only one who wrote commentary on Dra Thal Gyur tantra or Reverberation of Sound .Vimalamitras commentary is preserved at Khatok monastery in East Tibet . REVERBERATION OF SOUND is the root of all Buddhist Dharma . Reverberation of Sound (Dra Thal Gyur) is connected to 16 other Dzogchen Upadesha tantras . We need to see this display diametrical as a circle , not horizontal . DRA THAL GYUR tantra in the centre and names of 16 other Upadesha tantras around .

To maintain Mind transmission / Blessings of the Buddhas through the Natural Sound of Dharmata (Tib. Chönyid kyi rangdra) there are A-ti Yoga retreats at special places , supporting Contemplation / Samadhi.
1.5. Afterword : In May 2014 Chogyal Namkhai Norbu will give Teaching retreat with Guru Amitayus practice . Then we will focus on Guru Padmasambhava who practiced at Maratika cave in Nepal , with His wife Mandarava and attained realisation of Immortality . We will reflect on Guru Padmasambhava teachings of Natural Sound of Dharmata , because he is one of Lineage masters of Ati Yoga Dzogpa Chenpo Great Completeness .
1.6. Selected bibliography and notes : after we bagn to publish about Natural sound of Dharmata, this almost lost understanding (and practice) is rejuvenated , included in Buddhist dictionaries and in few Dharma books . These are like seeds beginning to sprout . Reminds me of the dream in which HH the Dalai Lama gave me two packages of seeds , asking me to take good care of them and not to lost them . Next moment I saw big meadow full of strong green grass . I taught to myself : how will these seeds grow on such uncultivated meadow ?! Next moment strong white seeds began to grow visibly and strongly … Human world is uncultivated samsara, but the seeds of Dharma , especially of Ati Yoga Dzogchen are strong , are growing and benefiting everyone with good karma . Sarwa mangalam .
